| The Islamic Republic of Iran is deeply
rooted in cultural and political objectives the most fundamental of which being human transcendental achievements, independency and self- regulation, freedom, and access to excellence in different dimensions. Attaining such an exalted ideals will not be so feasible unless by relying on a powerful background of knowledge, motivation, movement, and strong will reinforced by ethical an contemplative support. As a promising body of the society, Shahid Beheshti University is responsible to explore an( gain the knowledge at its highest level, wherever and however possible. Since re-opening of the Universities due to Cultural Revolution, Shahid Beheshti, has focused its resources to create and develop higher degee courses to meet the society's increasing needs. This was in accord with the Nation's voice for necessity of keeping independent while rapidly proceeding to reconstruct the country, Worth mentioning that, from 1987 to 1997, the ratio of the higher degrees students has increased from 5.8% to 14.8%. Yet the long term scheme is to increase the ratio up to 40%, obviously having in mind that quality should not be neglected in due course. To attract noble scholars and eminent scientists in the high caliber potentiality and to select objectives leading to sustainable development of the country, the University offers significant and conducive propositions to scholars and researchers supporting them to proceed. Constant efforts are also put forward to establish mutual scientific coherence between the University, other home institutions, and our counterparts beyond the barriers. We trust in Divine power and the potential capability of our young generation. Our warm welcome to whoever could cooperate with us towards this momentous and profound goal.
